Ancient China, 4 week block, 39 pages and photos to guide you thru full month of wonderful Ancient China myth and history. The block is intended for use in the grade 5 to grade 7 years of teaching at home or in school using Waldorf methods. As part of the block, I encourage you to collect and display some items from China including silks, pottery, ink sets, and small icons of the Buddha or other figure that can easily be found at garage sales and thrift shops.  We drank several types of tea from tiny thin ceramic cups, used a pungeant oil to adorn our wrists and foreheads, bowed to the ancestor table with photos and fresh fruits, and the children loved this block very much with its amazing history, starting with the myth of Pan-Gu, the creator of the world who resides in a black egg in the time of Chaos, in the beginning.

Crafts include ink and rice paper drawing, clay lantern, paper making, and salad rolls.  Includes Chinese numbers and letters.
